Höegh Autoliners takes a stand against corruption and work on several arenas to prohibit the use of corruption, bribery and facilitation payments.
Corruption is a widespread challenge for companies acting in world trade. Building on a sustainable business model, Höegh Autoliners is committed to take on that battle in our everyday operations.
Maritime Anti-Corruption Network (MACN)
Höegh Autoliners is a member and co-founder of a shipping network called Maritime Anti-Corruption Network (MACN). MACN is a global business network working towards its vision of a maritime industry free of corruption that enables fair trade to the benefit of society at large. By adopting the MACN Anti-Corruption Principles, communicating progress on implementation, sharing best practices and creating awareness of industry challenges, we are promoting good corporate practice for tackling bribes, facilitation payments and other forms of corruption.
Policy and Ethical Rules
All persons representing Höegh Autoliners and its subsidiaries are required to follow our Anti-Corruption Policy and Ethical Rules. To ensure that everyone are aware of their responsibilities and are ready to handle any difficult situations in relation to corruption, bribery or facilitation payments, Höegh Autoliners has an internal learning program called “Zero”.
Internal learning program
“Zero” is our internal learning programme developed to take a stand against corruption in general and facilitations payments in particular. In this programme, we conduct training sessions and provide information material to our office staff, crew and agents. To create awareness among our crew, we have developed and distributed a Say NO to corruption-leaflet to our vessels. In addition, signs regarding our anti-corruption policy will be put up on board our vessels.
Höegh Autoliners is serious in its attempt to improve global practises in this area; after all, how we deal with corruption is in fact a reflection of who we really are.
