Naming Ceremony for Höegh Copenhagen 2nd February 2010
Hull 4454 was named Höegh Copenhagen in a traditional naming ceremony at the Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME) Okpo Shipyard on 2nd February 2010
Höegh Copenhagen is the 11th in the series and the 17th vessel built by DSME for Höegh Autoliners. She is also the 2nd vessel with a length of 228 meter and carrying capacity of 7800 cars.
The new lady of the fleet will play an important role operating in the global trade systems the next 30 years. She forms part of our core fleet together with eight vessels which have been lengthened and the first DSME long ship, Höegh St.Petersburg, that was delivered in November 2009
Höegh Copenhagen's first employment, as from 5th February, will be loading in Korea and Japan for European ports.
Mrs Lene Buus Schou was Lady Sponsor and performed the naming.
68 guests attended the happy event Tuesday, including customers from Korea and Japan.
