Ingar Skiaker awarded Supply Chain Executive of the Year
On 9 November Ingar Skiaker was awarded Supply Chain Executive of the Year at the fifth Automotive Global Awards for Supply Chain. The award was held at the Claridge Hotel in London and was attended by top executives representing the Automotive Industry.
Ingar was announced as the winner of this category for his excellence in driving the transformational business change.
The Jury said: “In 2015 Höegh Autoliners recorded a 4% increase in volumes carried, compared to the year before, despite modest growth in global car sales of 1.7% year-on-year. The same year, the Company took delivery of two new 8,500 car equivalent unit Pure Car and Truck Carriers to the fleet, and branched out to new parts of the supply chain with the establishment of the fully owned terminal management company, Horizon Terminal Services LLC, in the USA."
Ingar was appointed President and CEO of Höegh Autoliners in November 2011. He joined the company in 1981, but left in 1995 and held management positions in the other industries and in consulting until he rejoined Höegh Autoliners in 2005. Previous positions in Höegh Autoliners include Head of Region Americas and Chief Operating Officer.
The Jury said,
Through his leadership and vision, Höegh has seen growth in its fleet and business, expansion of its trading lanes, new joint partnerships and agreed charter arrangements.
