City of Mumbai sold for Green Recycling

24 January 2017
News

24 January the vessel City of Mumbai (built 1987) was sold to Grieg Green for green recycling in China.

This is the second of two vessels that Sinor Lines has run in their services in South East Asia and that is being sold for green recycling. The vessel Höegh Chennai was sold for green recycling in December 2016. Both vessels are recycled at the Jiang Men City Zhong Xin Shipbreaking & Steel Co. in China, under supervision by Grieg Green.

Sinor Lines was established in 2013 as a joint venture between Höegh Autoliners and CSC RoRo, to capitalize on the opportunities in the South East Asian short sea market. After three years with strong financial results, the market dynamics around Sinor Lines changed and made the situation less favourable. As a result, it was in 2016 agreed between the owners that Sinor Lines was to be terminated in January 2017 and the sale of the two vessels is part of this decision.
