Thor Jørgen Guttormsen takes over as CEO for Höegh Autoliners

Thor Jørgen Gutormsen takes over the role as CEO for Höegh Autoliners. He served as CEO for Leif Höegh & Co between 1992 to 2008 and as non-executive Director of Höegh Autoliners since 2014.

Thor Jørgen Guttormsen has taken over as CEO as Ivar Myklebust has resigned from his position.

Leif O Høegh, Chairman of Höegh Autoliners comments:

Thor Jørgen is extremely well qualified and brings hands-on operating experience and a collaborative working style to the job. I have worked with Thor Jørgen through many years and am convinced that his customer-oriented approach will prove valuable.”

Thor Jørgen comes with a long experience from the Höegh companies, where he was the CEO of Leif Höegh & Co from 1992 to 2008. Thor Jørgen has also been President of the Norwegian Shipowners Association and a Board member of BIMCO and ECSA.

Leif Høegh, Chairman and Jan Kjaervik, Deputy Chairman, said in a joint statement; “We are very pleased that Thor Jørgen Guttormsen will lead Höegh Autoliners with the rest of the Senior Management team. Thor Jørgen knows the company well and the board and shareholders have confidence in his ability to develop the company further. We thank Ivar Myklebust for his service to the company.”

Thor Jørgen Guttormsen said; “ I am excited to be leading the high quality management team of Höegh Autoliners. I have always been proud of the many great people in the Höegh Autoliners organisation more broadly and looking to renew friendships around the world soon. From my time on the board I know the people and key issues well and will be able to hit the ground running.”


Thor Jørgen Guttormsen biography:

Thor Jørgen Guttormsen was elected to the board of Höegh Autoliners in 2014. He serves as Director of Höegh Autoliners. He has been CEO of Höegh & Co from 1992 to 2008. Prior to this period, he held positions as Manager in Price Waterhouse and IKO Strategy AS and as CEO of JSA Holding BV (a Paris based shipping company). Thor Jørgen has been President of the Norwegian Shipping Association and a Board member of BIMCO and ECSA. He is presently on the Boards of Telenor Maritime; Danmarks Skibskredit and Höegh LNG AS. He is an alternate director in Höegh LNG Holdings. Thor Jørgen holds an MSc from The Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration (NHH) and has participated in the International Executive Program at the Institute for Management Development (IMD) in Lausanne, Switzerland.
