COVID-19 (Coronavirus) update - 17 March
We are closely monitoring the COVID-19 outbreak and have taken precautionary measures to ensure the wellbeing and health of our crew, employees and business partners, as well as mitigate any impact on our operations.
We have activated strict health and safely policies in line with the recommendations by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO). In addition, we are following recommendations from local governments and assessing our global offices on an individual basis. This has resulted in some of our office employees working from home to ensure business continuity.
To mitigate the risk of infection in the community we have advised our employees against travel unless necessary, and meetings to be taken over video conference. Any visitors to our offices are assessed before entering, to ensure they have not travelled to any affected areas or have been in contact with anyone who has a confirmed case of COVID-19. These measures are to ensure the safety and wellbeing of both our employees and business partners.
For crew on board our vessels we continue with stringent health and safety procedures. Shore leave and crew changes are restricted and interpersonal exchanges in ports are minimised in affected areas. Our cargo operations staff follow port authority’s guidance and safety measures for working in the terminal to ensure minimal risk of exposure to the virus.
At this time, all the ports we call are fully operational and are following strict health and safety controls. So far, our schedules have not been impacted, however in the rapidly changing coronavirus situation we anticipate that this may have an impact on the industry and our operations.
We are following developments closely and implementing precautionary measures accordingly. We will keep you updated on any changes that may entail. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your local Höegh Autoliners Representative Office.
