COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Update – 3 April
The impact of COVID-19 is affecting many individuals and businesses around the globe, and our thoughts go out to those who have been affected. Our priority continues to be the wellbeing and health of our crew, employees and business partners, as well as mitigate impacts on our operations.
Höegh Autoliners is following developments closely and has implemented precautionary measures accordingly. To limit the spread of infection in the community our land-based employees worldwide continue to work remotely. For many the situation is even more challenging with a number of areas closing down schools and day care facilities. We are proud that they continue to service customer requests, and ensure business continuity.
Our crew maintain stringent health and safety procedures both at sea and whilst at port. Travel restrictions prohibit them from shore leave and crew changes, and for many this has meant extending their time at sea. It is with the support and dedication from our teams on both sea and land that we continue to operate in this rapidly evolving situation.
With increasing rates of infection globally, governments around the world are imposing stricter measures. We are seeing factories closing down all over the world, substantial disruptions in land-based supply chains and less and less cargo moving in to port terminals. With additional restrictions placed in ports, it has resulted in reduced labour availability, increased congestion and space constraints in certain locations. The stricter measures means entering the port may take more time than normal, and slow down our operations.
Whilst we may experience slight disruptions in some ports, we will endeavour to maintain a timely service to our customers. We will keep you updated on any specific changes it may entail. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your local Höegh Autoliners Representative Office.
