Developing the seafarers for the future - The Cadet Programmes

Access to qualified seafarers is in general considered to be a challenge and potential bottleneck for the shipping industry. HFS devotes considerable resources and efforts to educating and developing seafarers. The use of Cadets is therefore an essential element in this.

HFS operates Cadet Programmes in the important manning markets. The numbers vary from country to country depending on the long-term crewing strategy. The overall objective of the Cadet Programmes is the same – to educate and develop future officers with dedicated assistance from the company. Today, a large number of the officers are recruited from these Cadet Programmes and their performance is excellent.
